Situation

Schaake Feeders was among the largest cattle feeders in Washington State, operating feedlots in both Quincy and Ellensburg WA.  After the founder passed away, the family owners had decided to exit the business.

ZS Role

Zachary Scott was engaged as financial advisor to the Schaake Feeder’s family owners.

Result

Zachary Scott negotiated the terms and conditions of a merger with Beef Northwest, a cattle feeder in Oregon as well as the terms and conditions of a subordinated interest that was retained by the selling shareholders.  The transaction included a put, allowing the Schaake Feeders shareholders to exit the business entirely in future years.
