Engs Commercial Finance (“ECF”), headquartered in San Ramon, California, is an independent commercial equipment finance and leasing company focused on new and used fleet transportation, waste, and other related transportation equipment. After three generations of family ownership, John Engs desired to extend the company’s long-standing reputation to nationwide coverage.

ZS Role

Zachary Scott was engaged as exclusive financial advisor to the owners of ECF to assist in planning and executing a recapitalization transaction that provided liquidity to the Engs family and obtained sufficient capital commitments to underwrite a nationwide growth strategy.

Results

A partnership was forged between ECF, Senator Investment Group LP, and a group of transportation equipment finance executives. The recapitalized ECF, led by John Engs, will serve as the platform to expand coverage of truck, trailer and related equipment markets across the country.
