Situation

W.A. Botting Company (“Botting”) has been a full-service mechanical contractor in the Pacific Northwest since 1911, managing HVAC, plumbing and industrial refrigeration projects throughout the Pacific Northwest and Alaska. Some challenging jobs, combined with a slowdown in construction activity, led Botting to seek protection under Chapter 11 of the Bankruptcy Code.

ZS Role

Zachary Scott was engaged by Botting to solicit bids from buyers interested in continuing Botting’s projects.

Results

Zachary Scott identified and contacted interested parties and developed competition for Botting’s business and assets. After lining up a “stalking horse” bidder for the bankruptcy auction, Zachary Scott successfully arranged a sale of Botting’s key assets to Hermanson Company, a leading regional mechanical contractor. The sale facilitated the collection of accounts receivable and realization of other retained asset values, which helped to maximize proceeds.
