Thermoforming Systems, LLC (“TSL” or the “Company”) is a leading designer and manufacturer of thermoformers, which are highly engineered machines used to heat and form plastic and other materials. TSL’s thermoformers are largely used in food and beverage end markets throughout North America, with millions of cups, plates, lids, and trays produced on the Company’s equipment every year. The shareholders also owned an international sales and marketing agency called Sunwell Global, which sells thermoformers, extruders, and related equipment outside of North America.

Zachary Scott was engaged by the shareholders of TSL to represent the Company in its search for a partner that would further advance the growth and success of the business.

Results

Zachary Scott organized a competitive sale process that attracted a range of bids from industry participants and qualified financial buyers. The sale of the Company was consummated with Davis-Standard, a global designer and manufacturer of extruders and related packaging equipment. Davis-Standard is owned by ONCAP, a Toronto-based private equity firm. The acquisition enables Davis-Standard to offer a more complete line to plastic processing companies around the world.
