Situation

Snopac Products, Inc. (“Snopac”) was established in 1983 and was among the few remaining independently owned, family-operated wild catch salmon processing companies in Alaska. After twenty-five years building the company, the owners decided that the company’s assets would be better utilized in the hands of an owner that operated in a broader range of fisheries.

ZS Role

Zachary Scott was engaged to help Snopac’s owners choose a buyer that could take advantage of the company’s unique market position, processing assets, and experienced work force. Discussions of strategic fit were held with a targeted group of companies before selecting the ultimate buyer.

Results

Icicle Seafoods was chosen as the purchaser as a result of its competitive proposal, compatible market position and favorable employee culture.
