Situation

Battery Power Systems, Inc.  (“BPS” or the “Company”)  is a non-union, full-service electrical contractor specializing in backup power systems for telecommunications, wireless, uninterruptible power supply (“UPS”), broadband, and industrial applications. The Company is a licensed electrical contractor in the Pacific Northwest, CA, and CO. The Company delivers a broad suite of services and products from two facilities located in Washington State.  After 30 years in the industry, the owners were seeking to diversify their wealth and transition from day-to-day management of the business.

ZS Role

Zachary Scott was engaged as the exclusive financial advisor to represent the owners in a review of all strategic alternatives.  Zachary Scott organized a competitive process whereby proposals from both industry participants and private equity investors could be considered simultaneously.

Results

The sale of the business was completed with Infinitas Ventures, a Bellevue, WA based private equity fund.  Infinitas provided a seasoned executive to lead the Company, enabling a short transition period for the selling owner.
