After a short career as a transportation planner and a reboot at the Foster MBA program, I started a career in banking – first, in commercial banking, then moving to investment banking under the Bank of America umbrella. Thirty years ago, I left the bank with my two partners, Bill Hanneman and Frank Buhler, to start Zachary Scott. Over that thirty years, I’ve had the pleasure of working on a wide variety of businesses, industries and transaction types around issues of ownership transition and capital structure.

What I love about what I do:

Variety, people, and puzzles. This business has given me the opportunity to work with great people in so many different situations and apply my creativity to solve business problems.

Outside the office:

Family and friends are the core ingredient to all of my interests. I can golf, ski, hike, travel, attend sporting events, and fish anytime with them. Before COVID arrived, Molly and I were doing a pretty good job of visiting interesting places in Africa, China, South America, Australia, and Europe, and taking respite in one of our favorite places – Park City, UT.
