On the surface, America’s beer market has never looked healthier. Beer remains the most popular drink among Americans — among people who consume alcohol, 40% preferred “cracking a tinnie” (in Aussie parlance), 30% preferred wine, and 26% preferred spirits. While under 100 companies brewed beer just a generation ago, we can now count more than 6,000. The number of brewery workers has also doubled in less than a decade.
